Yes to God Tuesdays

Chapter 2, A Line in the Sand, of Lysa TerKeurst's book, What Happens When Women Walk in Faith, encourages you to "leave the way you've always done life and start doing things differently with God." Click on the button above and visit Lelia's blog to learn more about this study.

Because the office where I work is closing at the end of the month, I am searching for a new job during a recession. In the past, these circumstances would cause stress and sleepless nights for me. With God, I have peace.

This transformation did not come naturally for me. I continue to work at it. When anxiety and fear creep into my spirit, I focus on God.

As Lysa said, "Experiencing life change is not a matter of chance, it's a matter of choice, choosing God's way instead of our own."

My faith is in what God can do."For I am about to do a brand-new thing. See I have already begun!" from Isaiah 43:19. I'm leaving behind fear and doubt. Let's see where God takes me.

Great post! My job is temporary, and I do not know how long it will be here. But praise God that He gives us peace in the midst of what many would call a major storm!

Thanks for sharing!

Prayers and Blessings,
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
I loved this chapter as well.

My husband and I are weathering a HUGE storm in the area of our finances right now. After losing his full-time job because the company closed... and losing many contracts with his lawn care business... things have never been worse. I won't even tell you that we are scraping by... because we are not. BUT... the peace that God has placed in my heart astounds even me. I am fine with things as horrible as they are, because I know that God has a purpose in this that will grow us toward His holiness. He is doing a "new thing".... sometimes I wish He would hurry, but I really know that His timing is best.

Take courage and lean on Him. HE will see you through this.

Thanks so much for sharing this,
Lynn

I know that awesome feeling that no matter what happens around me, nothing can steal the joy that God has given me. And trust me, we are feeling the pinch as well. We have a rental house we can't afford to have but can not sell in this market. We had an experience with bad tenants to begin with who didn't pay on time and altogether moved out early June without paying for May or June. We've been trying to manage two mortgages for the past few months but had fallen behind on our new house. I've been praising God through this small trial because I know there's a lesson to be learned here and even though it seems I've been through some stormy weather these last few months, I praise God that the waters are beginning to calm.

Keep the faith!
Sandra

Good thoughts. I wanted to do the study but would have to catch up two weeks. Life has kind of taken on a life of it's own lately.

I wish you lived closer. It would be nice to hang out.

Michelle,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

Sorry to read that you will soon be jobless. I love your positive attitude and I'll be praying for a drop in the lap job offer to come your way.

Cute video for kids on safety. I can't wait to show it to the grands tomorrow.
